He’s only recently rejoined the club he played cricket with as a junior and the move is already paying big dividends for Matthew Moran.
The 20-year-old Sydney University student, who grew up in Mosman but now lives at Darling Point, was a standout performer in Premier Cricket on the weekend.
Moran scored 202 not out for Mosman in their match against Sydney in second grade on Saturday.
“I was with Sydney Uni for two years and only came back this year. I wanted to reunite with all my mates,’’ he said.

“We won Green Shield in 2015/16 and now going through 21s and through first and second grade.
“I’d definitely love to crack first grade and play as much as I can, see if I could get momentum and then progress out there.’’
It was Moran’s second 200 plus haul in cricket with the young gun notching 202 in a third grade match between Mosman and Randwick Petersham as a teenager back in 2017-18.
“I was surprised,’’ he said.
“I just went out to steady us and win the game. We only needed 100 or so.
“The thing with cricket is there are such high’s and low’s so when you get a high one you have to appreciate it.’'
He also scored 181 not out in the same grade for Sydney University against Mosman during the 2019-20 season..
At the other end of the age spectrum, 35-year-old Stephen O’Keefe (Manly-Warringah) took 6/36 in his fifth five wicket performance.
The former Test spinner, who failed to secure a player contract for the summer and retired from Sheffield Shield cricket in April, continues to impress in Premier Cricket.

Other standout performances on the second day of round two included;
Nick Cutler (Western Suburbs) making his fifth century.
Beau McClintock (Sydney) scoring his third century.
Gordon’s Tym Crawford hitting 61 to take him past 4000 runs to 4005 at 32.82. Crawford finished last season with 113 against Fairfield-Liverpool and opened this season with 70 against Hawkesbury. He has now scored four centuries and 29 half-centuries.

Nick Carruthers (Bankstown) scoring his fourth century and his younger brother, Mitchell, made 127 not out in second grade for Campbelltown-Camden against Mosman.
James Newton (Blacktown) scored his first century in his first match and innings of the season. In 73 innings with UTS-North Sydney (2016-17 and 2017-18), and with Blacktown since then, he had scored nine half-centuries.
