A THIRD generation Mosmanite (not descended from Cremorne refugees), was far from offended when SBS Viceland aired a skit mocking Mosman last week.
The Feed’s Facebook page published the mockumentary teaser, “Once Upon a Time in Mosman”, tagged, “Before you watch Season Two of Struggle Street, see what it’s like being trapped in the top tax bracket.”

Mosman deputy mayor Roy Bendall said he loved the hysterical clip.
“It was an excellent piece of reverse marketing because it made me turn on that Viceland show, Struggle Street, which I watched,” he said.
“Satire is one of the benchmarks of Australian culture and if we lose the ability to laugh at ourselves, we will end up in a very dark place.”
The satirical clip runs for less than two minutes and stars comedian Mark Humphries.
He sports blonde hair, is conservatively dressed and appears to have permanently clenched teeth — perhaps his character is suffering from bruxism?
Humphries recounted his parents’ “treacherous journey” (1.2km) fleeing Cremorne for Mosman, away from persecution and closer to water views.
“At one point their car broke down, and they almost had to take the bus. But, luckily they remembered that they had four spare cars,” he said.
Places including Mosman Junction and Mosman High School feature in the clip.
Humphries explained: “At one point there was even talk of sending me to a public school. But, luckily Aunt Beatrice died, so, yeah.”
Cr Bendall said it reminded him of when people were hysterically “sucked into” The Chaser’s Mosman mosque skit, which was “a bit of fun”.
“We do welcome those people from Cremorne who move to Mosman for a better life,” he said.
