August co-owner Claire Lee turned up this morning at 7.30am to find the door had been pushed in and coins from the till scattered on the floor. The thief took around $3000 worth of goods and cash including an iPhone and a laptop — and left without damaging anything else.

“It’s the first time we have ever had a break in and we are here three years,” Ms Lee said.

“Customers this morning said sorry it happened in Mosman.

“I’m very depressed but luckily they didn’t damage much and we can operate today.”

Police said nearby restaurant Dancing Zorbas was broken into and officers were still assessing what was taken at the premises yesterday afternoon.

Newly opened fashion outlet Bec and Bridge had a lucky escape as the thief couldn’t get through the door.

“Fortunately we weren’t really affected because of our security,” a company spokeswoman said.

“We are very lucky.”

It is understood another cafe was targeted and cash was taken.

Police believe it was the same person who targeted all the businesses and officers are currently investigating CCTV footage.

“It’s out of the ordinary for Mosman to have that many businesses targeted at the one time,” Senior Constable Michael Alexander said.

The Mosman Daily has called Dancing Zorbas for comment.
