A man has been charged after allegedly assaulting several police officers on Sydney’s north shore.
Police were called to Cremorne just after 5.30am last Thursday after residents reported a man not wearing any pants approaching several strangers on Spofforth St.
After being spoken to by police, the 32-year-old Narrabeen man allegedly became aggressive as officers tried to arrest him for breaching previously imposed bail conditions.
Police said the man allegedly became “irate”, resisted attempts to handcuff him, wrestled with officers, kicked them and left several officers with cuts and bruises.
The man was finally bought under control and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for treatment before he was taken to Chatswood Police Station where he was charged with assaulting police, intimidating police and resisting arrest.
The man was refused bail and is due to appear in Manly Local Court later this month.
