A Wingham man has been arrested after allegedly striking a five-year-old boy in the head with an arrow while the boy played in his backyard.

A man has been charged after allegedly striking a five-year-old boy in the head with an arrow on the Mid-North Coast.
Emergency services were called to a street in Wingham just after 7pm on Sunday after reports a boy had been struck by an arrow while playing in the backyard of his home.
The boy treated at the scene before he was flown to John Hunter Hospital for further treatment.
He is currently in a stable condition.
A 53-year-old man from a neighbouring house was arrested following an investigation by officers from Manning/Great Lakes Police District.
The man was charged with reckless wounding and was granted conditional bail to appear before Taree Local Court on January 22.
