Two men charged with selling cocaine on the Mid-North Coast will be committed to the district court later this year.
William Brunell, 30, and Aaron Mackie, 36, were due to be committed on Wednesday at Taree Local Court, but their matters were adjourned. They have not yet entered pleas.
Both are facing a serious charge of supplying a commercial quantity of cocaine, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years jail.
Police allege in court documents that both Mr Mackie and Mr Brunell supplied no less than 250g of cocaine over eight months between June 2020 and their arrest in February, 2021.
The offences are alleged to have been committed at Pampoolah near Taree.
Mr Brunell has been charged with five other offences including unlawfully obtained goods (personal custody), dealing with proceeds of crime, supply of the prohibited drug methylamphetamine (ice), possess/attempt to possess prescribed restricted substances and possession of the prohibited drug alprazolam.
Mr Mackie has been charged with eight other offences including supplying a prohibited drug, being cocaine, between June 2020 and February 2021 and one count of unauthorised possession of a firearm.
He was given supreme court bail in April, however Mr Brunell remains in custody.
Police allege in court documents that the pair are associated with organised crime on the Mid-North Coast.
Both men will reappear at Taree Local Court for committal to the district court on October 5.
