A wanted man who has allegedly led police on a chase across the state has been arrested hiding behind a door at a resort in Port Macquarie, police claim.
Since March, Brandon Darren Kelly has been wanted on outstanding warrants for domestic violence offences alleged to have occurred in the Tamworth area.
Officers tried to arrest him on several occasions in Sydney, Coffs Harbour, and Ballina.
After extensive inquiries from various police departments including the dog unit officers attended a resort in Port Macquarie about 10.20am on Tuesday, where they say they located Kelly hiding behind the door of a room.
The 26-year-old was arrested and taken to Port Macquarie Police Station where he was charged with a long list of offences including police pursuit, speeding, having an expired licence and possessing a prohibited drug.
Kelly has also been charged with escaping police custody, giving an incorrect name or address to an authorised officer, and putting his feet on a seat on public transport.
Six outstanding warrants were also executed for alleged domestic violence, assault, knife, property, traffic, and bail offences.
Kelly appeared before Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday and did not apply for bail which was formally refused.
The matter was adjourned to June 16.
