Taree: Witnesses called to help cops crack suspected hit-and-run fatality
Police have issued a second appeal for information into a suspected hit-and-run, and are still searching for a man connected to two assaults in separate Mid-North Coast investigations.

Police investigating a suspected hit-and-run fatality on the Mid-North Coast crash are re-appealing for information to help assist with their investigation.
Just after 7pm Sunday, July 18, emergency services were called to Wingham Rd, near Cedar Party Road, Taree, following reports of a concern for welfare.
A 52-year-old man was found unconscious and suffering serious injuries.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics then taken to Manning Base Hospital where he later died.
A crime scene was established by officers from Manning-Great Lakes Police District and specialist investigators from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit, who concluded that he may have been hit by a vehicle that failed to stop and render assistance
As investigations continue, officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit are appealing for anyone with dashcam vision from Wingham Road between 6.30pm and 7.05pm.
They are also appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the man walking on the roadway, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Meanwhile, police in Port Macquarie are still searching for a man who assaulted two teenagers in the town CBD on Monday.
About 11.40am on Monday, two 15-year-old boys were walking west along William St, towards the intersection of Munster St, when they were approached by an unknown man.
The man allegedly verbally abused the pair before the teenagers walked away towards Murray St. A short time later, the man and the teenagers spoke again at the intersection of Hay and William streets before the man allegedly grabbed one of the boy’s shoulders and pushed him to the ground.
The two boys attended Port Macquarie Police Station and reported the incident.
A grainy CCTV image of the man has been released to the public.
He is described as being of caucasian appearance, with an average build, and dark brown hair slicked to one side. He was seen wearing jeans, slides, a tan jacket and a satchel bag over his shoulder.
