A Taree man’s trip to the toilet took a turn when he decided to check his Powerball ticket, revealing he had won more than $4.5 million – a seriously flush result.
He scored the only division one winning entry nationally in Powerball draw 1476 drawn on Thursday.
After missing multiple phone calls from The Lott, the winner was completely oblivious to his fortune before finally checking his ticket over the weekend.
“I was actually sitting on the toilet when I checked my ticket,” he laughed.
“What a way to realise I’m a multi-millionaire now.”
His win was a whopping $4,681,528.85.
“I just went, ‘Holy s***! This can’t be right!’.
“I showed my wife and we started googling the numbers to see if it was really true.”
Revealing his generous nature, he said he wanted to use the win to help out a good mate.
“I’ve got a good mate that I’m going to help out. We’ve both been through some really tough times together,” he said.
“I’ll be seeing him later in the week so I can’t wait to tell him.”
The 8-game QuickPick entry was purchased via The Lott app.
The winning numbers were 12, 21, 6, 15, 9, 34 and 20. The all-important Powerball number was 15.
