A Mid-North Coast truck driver accused of paying for live-streamed child abuse material has been slapped with further shock charges relating to bestiality material.

Raymond Leonard Skinner was arrested at his Port Macquarie home in September and charged with 11 counts of accessing child abuse material.

Now the 61-year-old has been charged with two counts of possessing bestiality material it was revealed in Port Macquarie Local Court on Thursday.

When the truckie appeared before the same court following his arrest he made an application to be released on bail as the case progressed but magistrate Georgina Darcy told the court that “given he lives alone and the strong case” against him she was not willing to grant him bail.

It was heard in court that Skinner has been jailed for like offending in the past and in 2017 breached his bail conditions.

The police prosecutor said at the time that his profession would make him “hard to track down” and bail conditions in rural areas were “difficult to police”.

During his bail application Skinner’s defence lawyer told the court he had strong ties to the area – a rental property in Port Macquarie and an elderly mother in Wauchope that he wanted to maintain a relationship with.
