Two men have faced court as a man remains in hospital almost one week on from a stabbing on the Mid-North Coast.
About 1.30am on Thursday, emergency services were called to Central Road where they located a man wounded on the roadway.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 28-year-old man before taking him to Port Macquarie Base Hospital for the treatment of stab wounds.
He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Mid-North Coast Police launched an investigation under Strike Force Gatlard.
On Tuesday morning, detectives raided two properties at Wauchope and Port Macquarie.
Bailey James Chapman and Samuel Ehlers, both aged 21, were arrested at a home on Oxide Street, Port Macquarie, before being taken to Port Macquarie Police Station.
Both were charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.`
Ehlers was also charged with contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO.
Chapman was further charged with common assault.
The pair appeared before Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday and were refused bail.
Their matters have been adjourned to April 10.
