Police charge two men on Mid-North Coast as part of state domestic violence Operation Amarok
Police say one man arrested as part of a statewide domestic violence crackdown left his gun safe wide open, while another man had to be talked down from a rooftop.

A police operation targeting alleged domestic violence offenders in the state swung into action across the Mid-North Coast in recent days.
The four-day blitz under the latest Operation Amarok resulted in 592 arrests and 1107 charges, along with 22 guns being seized.
In the region, there has been two arrests in recent days, with two alleged offenders appearing before local courts on a range of charges.
Guns allegedly uncovered after police force entry
Manning Great Lakes Police District officers went to a home at Tinonee about 10.45pm on July 11, following reports of alleged domestic violence.
Police allege Raymond Corner attempted to lock himself in the home, officers forced entry and Corner resisted arrest and assaulted them.
Corner was hit with capsicum spray, arrested and taken to Taree Police Station.
Police allege the arresting officers suffered various injuries including cuts to hands and heads.
Checks revealed Corner held a firearms licence and possessed two registered firearms, but it’s alleged officers found the safe open and the firearms missing.
Police state four guns found on the grounds of the property were seized.
Corner, 40, has been charged with stalking/intimidating, assaulting a police officer in the execution of duty causing actual bodily harm, hindering or resisting police, possessing ammunition without a licence/permit/authority and two counts of possessing an unregistered firearm.
Corner was refused bail to face Taree Local Court on Wednesday.
Man wanted for DV talked down from rooftop
Mid North Coast Police District officers were making inquiries at a unit block at Kempsey about 4.30pm on July 14.
They received information Craig Larnder – wanted for alleged domestic violence offending – was at the location.
A resident told police Larnder was not at the property and officers were granted access to a unit, according to a police statement.
Police allege they found that Larnder had crawled into the roof cavity and onto the roof.
It’s alleged officers were forced to negotiate with Larnder as he refused to get down from the roof. More resources were called in to help.
Police state Larnder climbed down and was arrested shortly after 9.30pm.
He was taken to Kempsey Police Station and charged in relation to the outstanding warrants.
Larnder, 22, was refused bail to face Port Macquarie Bail Court on Monday.
