Man killed in single-vehicle car accident north of Taree

Emergency services rushed to the Pacific Hwy, north of Taree, on Friday afternoon following a single-vehicle collision.

A man was killed after his ute crashed on the Pacific Hwy on Friday afternoon.

About 12.30pm, emergency services were called to the highway at Middle Brother, north of Taree, after reports a southbound vehicle had left the roadway and collided with a safety barrier.

Off-duty medical staff stopped to help, before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived.

However the driver – a 54-year-old man – died at the scene.

Mid North Coast police officers attended the crash and established a crime scene.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
