Man dead after being dropped at Taree, Manning Base Hospital with serious injuries

Police were called to the Mid-North Coast hospital after a man was driven there by a family member with serious injuries and died soon after.

Police were called to the Manning Base Hospital at Taree on Sunday morning after a man was driven there by a family member with serious injuries and died soon after.

About 7.45am on Sunday, April 23, officers attached to Manning Great Lakes Police District were called to Taree Hospital following reports a man had presented with serious injuries.

The 38-year-old was assessed at the scene but could not be revived.

Initial inquiries suggest he was injured at another location, before being driven to the hospital by a family member.

Police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As inquiries continue, police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

High street, outside the emergency department entrance, was closed for several hours.
