An ex-specialist cop is facing charges after police were called to a brawl at a Mid-North Coast hotel.
It’s alleged officers found Glenn Flynn had assaulted a security guard while banned from the venue, understood to be the Lakes and Ocean Hotel Forster.
The 52-year-old former senior constable has been charged with common assault and being an excluded person failing to leave a premises. He has not entered pleas to the charges.
NSW Police states officers were called to an altercation involving multiple people at a Little St venue about 11.15pm on Saturday, December 2 last year.
When they arrived, it was claimed to Manning/Great Lakes Police District officers that an off-duty cop was involved in the fracas – and allegedly attacked a guard.
Flynn was attached to a specialist police command at the time, however, he is no longer employed by the state police force.
He was arrested on the night, taken to Forster Police Station and later released, pending further inquiries.
On July 26, Flynn was issued with a court attendance notice relating to the charges, police confirmed.
Flynn’s case was mentioned in Forster Local Court on August 28 and adjourned to October 16.
