Ex-specialist cop no longer with NSW Police Force as he prepares to face Forster court on security guard assault charge

A former police officer has been charged following an investigation into an alleged assault at Forster while he was employed by the force and off-duty.
Police responded to reports of a brawl involving multiple people at a hotel on Little St about 11.15pm on Saturday, December 2 last year.
Manning/Great Lakes Police District officers were told on arrival that an off-duty cop was involved in the altercation – and he allegedly attacking a security guard.
The 52-year-old senior constable was attached to a specialist command at the time, however, he is no longer employed by NSW Police Force.
He was arrested, taken to Forster Police Station and later released, pending further inquiries.
Police have confirmed in a statement that on Friday he was issued a court attendance notice for common assault and being an excluded person failing to leave a premises.
The accused ex-policeman is due to face Forster Local Court on August 28.
