Dahkota Harris, 27, Nykeeta Jones, 38, Matthew McDonald 25, charged over alleged Bago forest kidnapping, shooting

A woman wanted over the alleged kidnapping and shooting of a man, found naked and bleeding by an early morning jogger in a remote forest near Port Macquarie, was allegedly found hiding in the back of a car.

Police have charged a second woman with kidnapping and shooting with intent to murder after a man was found naked with gunshot wounds to his arms and legs in a remote forest on the NSW Mid-North Coast.

Dahkota Harris, 27, has been arrested after Nykeeta Jones, 38, and 25-year-old Matthew McDonald were extradited from Western Australia and charged last week.

It is alleged 32-year-old Joshua Dempsey was taken at gunpoint from a Port Macquarie home and driven to a remote section of the Bago State Forest on Rollover Rd and shot multiple times.

A jogger found him naked and bleeding, alerting police just after 7am on November 17.

NSW Police states that Officers were “told the man had been allegedly kidnapped by three people from Port Macquarie and taken to Bago Forest, where he was shot”.

Paramedics treated the man and he was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Detectives launched Strike Force Parham to investigate with Western Australia Police Force. They appealed to the public for help to find Harris.

About midday on Monday, police were conducting a vehicle stop on Macleay Way, South Kempsey, when they arrested Harris, allegedly laying across the back seat of a vehicle.

She was taken to Kempsey Police Station and charged with shoot at with intent to murder and kidnapping in company with intent to cause serious indictable occasion aggravated bodily harm.

The offences were alleged to have taken place some time between 9pm on November 16 and 4am the next morning.

She was refused bail to face Kempsey Local Court on Tuesday where it was heard her lawyer was intending to make a bail application.

But later in the day when Magistrate Juliana Crofts asked the lawyer if a release application was going ahead, he replied “not today” as he was still in the process of gathering the relevant information.

Harris appeared by video link from the Kempsey police cells and when Ms Crofts told her the case was adjourned to January 23 she replied “no worries”.

She has not entered a plea.

Earlier, Jones and McDonald were arrested in Barradonia, south of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia, on November 21. They were extradited to NSW last Monday, November 25.

Officers allegedly found “a loaded sawn-off rifle” in the vehicle they were travelling in.

Jones and McDonald have both been charged with kidnapping and shooting at with intent to murder, among other charges. They remain before the courts.
