A little bit daggy, but a lot of fun – mini golf is making a comeback at one of the Mid-North Coast’s most popular holiday destinations.
The $2 million, 18-hole course, will be built near the beach at Crescent Head Country Club.
The project includes a water system upgrade, with the water tanks arriving on site this week.
The coastal town has seen a lot of development activity in recent months. A boutique surf hotel offering “barefoot luxury” to open later this year.
Crescent Head, an idyllic little spot, is located about 20km southeast of Kempsey.
Crescent Head still has a relaxed holiday vibe – and a caravan park in prime position on the creek in the heart of town.
The town boasts a world-renowned right-hand wave, breaking up to 400m in the right conditions

Funding for the mini golf project was secured in 2020, with just over $1.3m awarded as part of the federal government’s Building Better Regions Fund.
An additional NSW government grant of $100,000 was subsequently obtained, with the remaining shortfall (about $550,000) provided by the club.
Oxley MP Michael Kemp recently visited the site and spoke about the importance of the water system upgrades.
“This spectacular new facility will provide the groundwork for a new irrigation and wastewater system to be installed on the grounds, which will not only reduce future costs but also create a more eco-friendly club,” he said.
Crescent Head Country Club manager Colan Ryan said there was a lot of community support.
“And the future irrigation will provide further enhancements for the club keeping us sustainable for years to come,” he said.
The new mini golf course is scheduled to be completed by mid-September.
