Bulahdelah fatal trike bike accident near Pacific Highway on Wootton Way

A man has died, and an investigation is underway following a fiery crash at Bulahdelah on the Mid-North Coast.

About 8.30am on Tuesday emergency services were called to Wootton Way near the Pacific Highway, Bulahdelah, following reports of a crash.

A trike motorcycle had crashed into a parked trailer on the shoulder of the road before igniting according to a NSW Police spokesperson.

Firefighters extinguished the fire but the male rider of the trike died at the scene.

The man believed to be in his 70s is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene has been established and inquiries into the cause of the crash are underway.

Wootton Way is expected to remain closed for a number of hours while forensic officers examine the scene.
