A Mid-North Coast woman has been charged with negligent driving after flipping her Kombi on the Pacific Motorway before it burst into flames, badly injuring her male passenger.

A Mid-North Coast woman has been charged with negligent driving after flipping her Kombi on the Pacific Motorway before it burst into flames, badly injuring her male passenger.
At about 5pm on Friday, October 11, emergency services were called to the Pacific Motorway at Wootton after reports of a single vehicle crash.
When police arrived at the scene, they were told a green Volkswagen Kombi van had smashed into a median strip before rolling over and catching fire.
The female driver, 33 and her male passenger, 27, were rushed to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle for treatment.
Both the man and the woman have since been released.
Police subsequently launched an investigation, and the van was seized for forensic examination.
Following a probe into the crash, police arrested the driver on Wednesday in the St George area.
She was taken to St George Police Station and charged with negligent driving – occasioning grievous bodily harm.
She is due to appear in Forster Local Court on Wednesday, December 11.
