Port Macquarie men Boaz Gibbs, 24, and Darren John King, 42, charged with drug offences after kilo of meth allegedly seized at Wang Wauk
Detectives have charged two men – including one with 101 offences – after a kilogram of methamphetamine was allegedly seized during a car stop. They will allege the drugs were en route to a popular Mid-North Coast town.

Two men have been remanded in custody after police allegedly uncovered over a kilogram of methamphetamine destined for one of the state’s most popular coastal towns.
Port Macquarie man Boaz Gibbs, 24, was arrested after a traffic stop on the Pacific Highway at Wang Wauk, near Nabiac, on Wednesday afternoon.
Police said in a statement that they alleged the Gibbs’ black hatchback was linked to investigations under Strike Force Ankle, set up by Mid-North Coast detectives in January to investigate alleged drug supply in the Port Macquarie area.
Police allege they discovered 1.1kg of meth inside Gibbs’ car as he was driving back to Port Macquarie.
Police said in a statement the ice had an estimated street value of $248,000.
Gibbs faced Taree Local Court the following day on one count of supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.
He was not required to enter a plea and did not make a release application before he was formally bail refused and remanded in custody to reappear on March 24.
Port Macquarie police arrested Darren John King, 42, late on Thursday before charging him with 101 offences, including being involved in a criminal group with Gibbs.
The charges include 49 counts of supplying a prohibited drug (less than indictable), 19 counts of supplying an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug, 15 counts of supplying a small quantity of a prohibited drug and 12 counts of dealing in the proceeds of crime.
King is also facing one count each of supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug and supplying a prohibited drug on an ongoing basis.
He faced Port Macquarie Local Court on Friday where he was not required to enter any plea.
King was refused bail and remanded in custody to reappear on May 22.
Investigations are ongoing.
