MANLY

NSW Fire and Rescue and police, as well as an emergency Sydney Water repair crew, were called in after a burst water main sent torrents of water down Sydney Rd on Thursday night. Hundreds of residents were left without water for several hours after a 150mm diameter pipe broke around 7pm. The water forced its way up through the footpath near the intersection with George St, carrying rubble, sand and soil down the hill. No properties were damaged. Sydney Water said the main was repaired and water turned back on at 2.25am on Friday.
