HE is one of the most exciting backs in the NRL, but Sea Eagles star Tom “Turbo”Trbojevic believes he will have to play the waiting game to fulfil his dream of playing State of Origin for NSW.
Following the Blues 18-16 loss to Queensland in the second game on Wednesday night, the speculation has already started about possible changes for the decider in three weeks at Suncorp Stadium.
It is believed Trbojevic had been pencilled in for a start on the wing in the series opener before a leg injury ruled him out.
And while the 20-year-old was a member the NSW extended squad on Wednesday, he is not expecting a call — up for game three.
“I think they will go with the same 17, they did a job up in Queensland in game one,” Trbojevic said yesterday.
“And they played well very well for most of the game last night.”
Trbojevic thrived being involved the Blues inner-sanctum going into Wednesday’s clash.
“My whole life I have wanted to represent NSW and put a sky blue jersey on so I don’t really need any extra motivation,” he said.
“It was just good to be in camp and be around the boys and learning as much as I can.”
And one of the positives for the Blues was the outstanding display of Trbojevic’s brother Jake.
“He went really well, he came on 20-25 minutes into the game and had a really good stint,” Trbojevic.
Besides putting fullback James Tedesco into a hole to score his try, Trbojevic said some of his carries were really good.
