Sea Eagles star Api Koroisau says ‘thank you‘ to his team mates

HOOKER Api Koroisau has thanked his team mates for helping him to produce his eye-catching form with the Sea Eagles this season.

The livewire forward has been one of Manly’s most consistent performers this season and his battle with rising Cronulla hooker Jayden Brailey will be a key match-up when the side’s meet on Sunday at Southern Cross Group Stadium.

“I think this is probably the best I have played in the No. 9 position,” Koroisau said.

“I have been really happy with how I have going and hopefully I can continue to improve in that position- especially in my defence and game management.

“I think it is due to the rest of the players around me … I have the boys to thank for my form this year.”

Koroisau said the Sea Eagles frontrowers are playing really well and halves Daly Cherry-Evans and Blake Green are starting to play a big part in his game as well.

“They are leading us around and letting me do the easy things like running when there is a quick play the ball,” he aid.

Koroisau has benefited from consistently starting at No. 9 after sharing the hooking role with Matt Parcell and also switched into the halves due to injuries last season.

“That is as huge factor in it as well,” he said.

“Also the spine being the same throughout the whole year, I think we have had one injury there with Turbo (Tom Trbojevic) and Matt Wright came in and did a great job,” he said.

“I think (last year) we had 12 different combinations in the spine which is pretty big for a first grade team.”
