Two men have now been charged over an alleged assault of a 34-year-old in Sydney’s north, which left him fighting for life with critical head injuries.

A second man has been charged over an alleged assault in Sydney that left a 34-year-old in hospital with critical injuries.
Police found Andrew Connell, with wounds to his head, on Joubert St, Hunters Hill about 3.30pm on Monday.
He was rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.
At 2am the next day, Todd Bunyan, 42, was arrested at a unit on Joubert St and later charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other.
Mr Bunyan was refused bail when he appeared in Burwood Local Court on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Samuel Leggett, 40, of Hunters Hills, appeared in Manly Local Court, also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other for his alleged role in the attack.
The court heard that Mr Leggett, who has ties to Manly, was also charged with a number of offences that allegedly occurred on the northern beaches and were not related to the alleged assault at Hunters Hill.
He has been charged with two counts of common assault for allegedly attacking separate male victims in Manly on the nights of April 28 and 29.
Police also charged him with two counts of goods in custody, at Brookvale on June 18, suspected of being stolen.
It would be alleged that he had a stolen e-bike and three stolen bank cards in his possession.
Mr Leggett was also charged with being armed — with an angle grinder and crowbar — to commit an indictable offence.
He was also charged with three counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear of personal harm, in relation to an incident at Brookvale on June 18 and the two alleged Manly assaults in late April.
Mr Leggett is also charged with stealing an e-bike in Manly on June 8.
During his application for bail, Magistrate Robyn Denes heard that police opposed Mr Leggett’s release from custody due to the serious nature of the alleged Hunters Hill assault.
Ms Denes said that allegation, and the other charges, were “serious”.
“There is a serious escalation in his offending,” she said, before refusing bail.
Mr Leggett, who appeared in court via video link from Manly police station, reacted angrily.
“F--k you, ya dog,” he said as he stormed from the video room at the police station.
No plea has been entered for the Hunters Hill assault charge and the offences alleged to have occurred in Brookvale on Tuesday.
He has pleaded not guilty to the April Manly assault and intimidation charges.
Mr Leggett is due back in Manly court on June 21.
