A husband and wife duo are set to open a new veterinary clinic on the northern beaches which has been designed to give pets a luxurious experience.

The Beaches Vet clinic located on Condamine St in Manly Vale has been a lifelong dream for the family which will open on Monday.

Vet Dr Natalie Slade said she has hopes locals will appreciate their non-traditional approach.

“Our Veterinary hospital is really unique and has a relaxing coastal luxe feel. We wanted our clinic to be more like a home than a hospital to make for lower stress visits,” Dr Slade said.

“We designed everything with our clients and their pets in mind. We have nine exclusive undercover ground level carparks, special slip-resistant flooring to help with mobility of sick or arthritic animals and a special ventilation system which has a separate circuit for cats and for dogs which minimises stress.

“We have an in-ceiling speaker system in our cat area and our dog ward so that they can have something relaxing to listen to and a luxury cat resort — a special place that cats staying with us get to enjoy — this is dedicated to our beautiful rescue cat that passed away called Delta.”

She said unlike big corporations the family-run business wanted to develop relationships with their clients and pets.

The family’s beloved five-year-old Cavoodle Gracie is also set to be a member of the team as the customer cuddler.

Dr Slade said the northern beaches was the perfect place for them to open a clinic because they were familiar with the area after living there for a number of years.

Natalie and Andrew met while they were at university 12 years ago and never looked back.

She said while it was a “tough time” to start a small family business at the moment, she was aware of the high pet ownership rates in the area and the recent increase in pet adoptions during the pandemic.

“I think it’s great that a lot of pets that needed to be adopted have found homes and people are spending more time with their pets than they were before because they were too busy. “Having a pet often helps people have a healthy lifestyle and enjoy the outdoors so I think it’s a good thing.”

The family veterinary clinic are offering clients free new puppy and kitten checks plus gifts and free dental checks.
