Photos of Manly, Sydney, during COVID-19 pandemic

PICTURE GALLERY: From closed shops with heartfelt signs wishing people to stay safe, to the empty wharf, life in Manly looks very different to how it did just a month ago.

Only a few weeks ago the term social distancing was not part of our vocabulary, we could still go into a pub after work and restaurants and cafes in Manly were busy with customers.

Back then messages from lifeguards were about warning swimmers to stay within the flags, now they are telling beachgoers they will be fined if they sit on the sand and to leave after exercise as quickly as possible.

There’s no doubt the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we live, at least temporarily.

The Manly Daily has compiled series of pictures depicting life in Manly during the coronavirus emergency, including heartfelt and hope-filled messages to loyal customers from business owners, empty street scenes and adverts for face masks and hand sanitiser.

Keep checking back as we will update this article with fresh pictures as they come in.

In the meantime, stay safe and well.
