A police manhunt is still underway on the northern beaches on Tuesday for a person wanted for stabbing a man in the chest during an early morning brawl at a block of apartments.
The man was severely injured during the confrontation at the Manly Waves unit complex at the corner of Pacific St and Malvern Ave, Manly.
Police had been called about a disturbance after locals hard people screaming and swearing just before 2.45am on Monday.
When officers arrived they found a man, 24, on the street outside the complex, who said he had been stabbed.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man for wounds to his chest and left arm.
He was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. The hospital said on Tuesday it was not able to provide an update on his condition because it was a “police matter”.

Police have not found the weapon used in the attack and have yet to issue a description of the person they want to speak with.
Northern Beaches Police commander Pat Sharkey said officers were working to find the person responsible for the attack, but that person was yet to be identified by the victim.
“Until we get a formal statement from the (injured) person obviously we’ve been doorknocking and canvassing,” Superintendent Sharkey said.
“We have some information in regards to yelling that was heard around that time.”
A neighbour, who asked not to be identified, said on Monday police had visited the complex several times recently.
“(There’s) lots of screaming and carry on all the time, “the neighbour said.
