YOU might think a model’s downtime would be all glamorous lunches and shopping trips.
But when Sam Harris gets a day off, she’s a food prepper.
The northern beaches model, who has appeared on the cover of Australian Vogue, can be found in the kitchen making bulk quantities of dishes such as chicken and prawn stir fry.
“I try — and it’s healthy,” she laughed. “It’s much more convenient if you’ve had a big day and you can just put it in the microwave.”
Harris, 26, also has simple tastes when it comes to beauty too.
She said Garnier Micellar water cleanser and Palmer’s face oil are all she needs.
Harris, is currently looking for new talent as a judge as part of the Girlfriend Priceline Model Search.
She made the finals of the contest when she was just 13, after going along to the auditions with her mum. She was so keen, she was first in the line.
She said she moved to the northern beaches from the city, as it reminds her of her native Gold Coast.
She lives in Collaroy with fiance Luke Hunt, and said she’s often around Manly.
“I like Manly Wharf for lunch, on a nice sunny day,” she said. “My favourite restaurant is Jellyfish. I wouldn’t live anywhere else.”
Organisers of the model search said Ms Harris wouldn’t be answering questions about her relationship.
Mr Hunt was released from jail earlier this year for causing the death by dangerous driving of Kenneth Kay.
Hunt and Harris were driving in Narraweena on their way to the gym in 2012 when their Commodore crashed into a Hyundai Lantra after he went through a red or amber light.
The court heard that he was going about 95km/h in a 60km/h zone and aggressively changing lanes.
Mr Lay, 78, died in hospital.
The couple were seriously injured after their car hit a tree after smashing into Mr Lay’s Lantra.
Mr Hunt was jailed in 2014.
