The owners of a puppy believed to have been bludgeoned to death in the backyard by an intruder, have appealed for help in finding the killer.
Coco, who was just six months old, was discovered unresponsive in the secure garden of the family home in a quiet cul-de-sac in Freshwater, on Sydney’s northern beaches, yesterday afternoon.
A vet later confirmed she had suffered a fractured skull.
Police have now launched an investigation into how Coco died from horrific head injuries in Cobbadah Pl. She was found by a family member at 3.15pm.
The dog was immediately taken to the local vet, but sadly died.
Owner Maria O’Carroll told the Manly Daily “she was the most beautiful little puppy and we are so devastated”.
“Our two boys loved little Coco so much and they are finding it very hard today to come to terms with the fact their little buddy is gone.”
Ms O’Carroll and partner Lee Armstrong released the photos of Coco in the hope that it would help track down the puppy’s killer.
Police have also appealed to the public for help and are asking anyone with information about the death to call Dee Why Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
