Mona Vale is developing a vibrant cafe scene.

There’s a new name, a new menu and a new concept for one centrally-located cafe.

Inch Cafe, facing Village Park, has been renamed Cafe Racer, owner Jeremy Drayton said.

“We’ve been looking at food trends in Sydney and Melbourne,” Mr Drayton said. “There are now 15 gyms in Mona Vale, so we sat down with a nutritionist before launching the new menu.”

Customers can expect a healthy menu showcasing seasonal and wherever possible, local produce, he said.

The cafe has adopted on-trend bowl food. There’s an acai bowl with organic bee pollen and a vego version with quinoa, kale pesto, and sauerkraut for breakfast.

For lunch there’s a rainbow of ingredients featuring spinach, sprouts, avocado, beetroot, capsicum, carrot, hummus, sauerkraut.

Motorbike culture is part of the brand. By the end of the year, Cafe Racer plans to have a bike from British business Mac Motorcycles and the potential to configure and order a bike by iPad over a coffee, Mr Drayton said.

Industrial laneway cafe Three Doors Down is gearing up for Spring with new additions to the menu including okonomiyaki, or Japanese style pancakes with pork belly, bonito flakes and wasabi aioli and raw zucchini noodles with poached chicken.

Israeli cafe owner Tomer Elnekave has been serving his trendy mix of fusion food to customers since 2014.

The cafe will also introduce its own house-roasted coffee brand, Fine Folk, Mr Elnekave said.

Bronze Kiosk, the cafe at Mona Vale Surf Lifesaving Club changed hands in May when Peter and Nicola Rich sold their beachside cafe of five years to Teresa Tan.

The cafe has switched coffee suppliers, bringing in Danes’ Viking five-bean blend for caffeine lovers.

A new all-day menu is on the way with the start of Spring. Old favourites including the Bronze burger and salt and pepper calamari will be given a twist and there will be more vegetarian breakfast options.
