Man charged with supplying heroin after northern beaches’ police operation

A MAN has been charged with supplying heroin as part of an ongoing police investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs on the northern beaches.
Detectives arrested the 45-year-old man at Queenscliff after heroin, cash and prohibited weapons were found at his address.
A small amount of prescription medication was also found.
Officers spoke to the man outside a block of units in Queenscliff Rd about 8.30am on Wednesday in relation to the supply of heroin on the northern beaches.
Northern Beaches police crime manager Craig Wonders said detectives then obtained a search warrant for the man’s unit.
Insp Wonders said police seized a 10,000 volt taser and a flick knife as well as 1.6 grams of heroin.
“A sizeable amount of cash, suspected of being the proceeds of crime, was also seized.”
As part of the same operation, another man was arrested in Manly after a small amount of heroin was found in his possession.
The man, 54, was spoken to by police after they pulled over a car in Whistler St on Wednesday.
“The car was searched and 0.1 grams of heroin was found along with an amount of cash suspected of being the proceeds of crime,” Insp Wonders said.
The first man was charged with 10 offences including supply heroin; possess heroin and prescription medication; deal with the proceeds of crime and; having prohibited weapons in his possession.
The second man was charged with possessing a prohibited drug.
Insp Wonders said the investigation into illegal drug supply would continue.
“We encourage anyone with information about the distribution of illegal drugs to contact their local police or Crime Stoppers.
“All information received will be treated confidentially.”
The men were put on conditional bail to appear in Manly Local Court on June 13.
