Kids eat free: Eateries on Sydney’s northern beaches with deals

Going out with the kids doesn’t have to cost the earth. Here are seven peninsula venues where kids can eat for free.

IF you want to take the kids out for dinner over the holidays, it doesn’t have to cost the earth. There are plenty of local clubs, pubs and restaurants where kids eat for free, subject to conditions.

Barbuto in Narrabeen feeds munchkins aged 12 and under with dishes like its hugely popular hotdog on a brioche bun with chips.

This deal is available with a main adult meal and is valid from Monday to Friday from 11.30am to 6.30pm. Conditions apply, owner Doug Fraser said.

Japanese rock and roll bar Daniel San gives kids meals an Asian twist, offering Japanese pork sausages with chips, or six maki sushi rolls as part of the Monday to Friday kids-eat-free deal. Fish and chips, or fish with the healthier vegetable option, is another kids meal deal. Buy an adult meal and the deal is valid from 4pm to 6.30pm on weekdays.

Kids eat free at the Dig Inn Cafe at Harbord Diggers from Monday to Thursday, from 4-6pm. Meals include burgers, nuggets and chips and cheese toasties.

Narrabeen restaurant The Bored Monkey has a one-for-one policy. For each adult meal — surf and turf is a favourite — customers can get a free kids meal either at lunch or dinner. Fish and chips is popular with junior diners aged 12 and under.

Dine without the whines at Manly Wharf Hotel. The pub has one free kids meal with every adult meal at lunch and dinner daily. Pizza fans can pick a ham and pineapple, fish and chips, spag bol or crumbed chicken tenderloins with chips.

If you want something other than chips, Manly Thai restaurant Thup Tim Siam has a free meal for kids under 120cm from its Kids Ahoy Selection with every full-priced adult meal Tuesdays and Wednesday nights.

The Dee Why Hotel has four nights a week when kiddies can eat in the pub for free. This deal extends to Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and on weekends, come on Sunday to take advantage of the offer.
