Hugos Manly, Jonah’s and Monkey King Thai have winter special deals

There are plenty of restaurant deals over winter. Foodie Friday has three to get you started.

Winter is the time to find some good restaurant deals.

Upmarket Whale Beach boutique hotel Jonah’s has two weekday deals that showcase executive chef Logan Campbell’s culinary skills and the clifftop setting of the restaurant.

Share The Love is a dish designed for two available for lunch and dinner on weekdays. This $59-a-head deal includes a glass of Barossa shiraz or a Kiwi sauvignon blanc. Campbell slow cooks lamb neck and serves it with truffled mash, sauteed spinach lentils and house-made mint jelly.

Sample Jonah’s gourmet food and enjoy the location by booking one of the winter deals.

Alternatively, the $85-a -head Winter Warmer features the same wine but this time it is served with an entree­ from the chef’s selection and a choice of either sea bass grouper with split peas and gremolata or slow roasted pork belly with braised cabbage, pickled onions and apple puree.

Both Jonah’s deals are running until August 31.

Spice up Mondays and Tuesdays with a Thai special. Top K. Jitrakthaipakdee, or Top K.J. for short, opened his second Monkey King restaurant in Newport last August.

The main road Thai has punchy mod Thai food and an All You Can Eat banquet set meal for $20 a head at the start of the week.

Bookings are essential and the deal covers a minimum of four. The restaurant will also celebrate its first anniversary with a yet-to-be-announced special during August. Details on Facebook.
