Yesterday the Community Northern Beaches building was the scene for a singing performance set to feature in the movie Unsound, which also stars Todd McKenney and Yiana Pandelis.
Unsound follows the journey of disillusioned musician Noah (played by Noi) whose romantic spark is ignited by a young, trans man as they work together to save his community nightclub for the deaf.
Noi, who played Mossador in Game of Thrones, said Unsound was an opportunity for him to tackle a project very different from the one that put him in the global spotlight.
“This is essentially a love story,” he said. “Amongst that it has these layers of battles that people have with themselves, or also just learning to accept who they are.”
Noi — who is in Australia for the first time — is filming in Manly.
“Manly is one of the areas (of Australia) I really like,” he said. “I love the beach here and I like the energy here. Manly and Newtown are the two areas I’ve gravitated towards.”
Aussie music icon Anu was also enjoying the opportunity to film in Manly saying it was a “great location to unwind in-between scenes”.
