A grandad, who sexually assaulted his six-year-old granddaughter while he was babysitting her at his northern beaches home, was later taken to the local police station by the girl’s father.

A man who sexually assaulted his six-year-old granddaughter while he was babysitting her at his northern beaches home appeared in Manly Local Court on Tuesday.
The grandad, 66, was arrested after his son, the little girl’s dad, took him to Frenchs Forest police station after the child revealed: “Sometimes he tickles me down there”.
Known as CM — he cannot be identified for legal reasons — the grandfather pleaded guilty on Tuesday to one count of intentionally sexually touch a child under 10 years.
CM, who works as an anaesthetist nurse, was looking after the girl on the morning of June 20 when the offence occurred.
The girl’s father dropped her off at the grandfather’s Frenchs Forest home midmorning, according to a Statement of Agreed Facts tendered to court.
A short time later the girl got into a bed with CM to watch television.
The grandad began tickling the girl before touching her buttocks, under her clothes. He then touched her vagina “three or four times”.
“This occurred until (the girl) told him to stop because she did not like how it felt,” the statement said.
CM stopped touching her and they continued to watch TV.
The girl’s father picked her up at 2.30pm.
Later that day the father asked his daughter “if she had a good time with Pa?”
The girls said she “liked the way Pa tickles me”.
Her father then asked her: “Where does Pa tickle you?”
The girl replied: “Oh, sometimes he tickles me down there.”
The father then asked his daughter if “Pa tickled her under her pants?”
The girl nodded her head.
According to the agreed facts the girl’s father, and his brother, then drove to the grandfather’s home to confront him.
“Dad, I will get straight to it … (the girl) told me that you had tickled her under her pants.
“I just want to give you the opportunity to tell the truth and I hope you do.”
CM replied: “Yeah (the girl) is telling the truth,” the agreed facts statement said.
The girl’s father then asked CM why he did it.
“CM said: “I don’t know”.

The girl’s father and his brother then took CM to Frenchs Forest police station where he was interviewed.
The agreed facts statement said CM told police: “Yeah I did those things”.
Magistrate Mark Richardson adjourned the matter for sentence in Manly Local Court on November 22.
CM’s bail was continued.
