THIS weekend is the last chance for people to say farewell to the Manly Sea Life Sanctuary.
The staff said goodbye their own way in this picture taken with a drone, lying on the sand at Manly Cove.
The aquarium is set to close forever tomorrow, bringing an end to a proud and colourful 55 years as one of the northern beaches’ top tourist attractions.
The sanctuary’s senior operations manager, Ashley Hayes, said the community’s support in the lead-up to the closure had been overwhelming.
“We’ve been so busy and it has meant so much to us,” Ms Hayes said. “We have so many people who have a relationship with the aquarium and the staff are loving talking to all of the guests.” There are plenty of attractions planned at the aquarium between this morning and tomorrow afternoon.
END OF AN ERA
The aquarium will be open from 9.30am-7pm today (last tickets at 6.30pm) and 9.30am-5pm (last tickets at 4.30pm) tomorrow.
