Dee Why Beach: Man treated for spinal injuries after incident in ocean baths
A man has suffered severe suspected spinal injuries at a popular Sydney ocean pool on Thursday evening.

A man suffered suspected severe spinal injuries after an incident at a Sydney beach on Thursday night.
It is understood the man, aged in his early 20s, struck his head when he dived into the ocean baths at the southern end of Dee Why Beach just before 6pm.
The non-English speaking man, believed to be of Japanese background, was found floating on the surface.
He told bystanders that he could not move his arms or legs.
Members of the public supported him in the water while others called triple zero.
Emergency services including police, NSW Fire and Rescue, ambulance paramedics and the ambulance rescue helicopter were called to the scene near the intersection of Monash Pde and Oaks Ave.
The man was kpept in the water until he was able to placed on a pinal board by paramedics and a doctor from the ambulance helicopter that landed on a reserve behind the Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club.
He was then stabilised before being placed in an ambulance.
An Ambulance NSW spokeswoman said it received a triple zero call at 5.50pm about a man who had suffered traumatic injuries.
“The patient, in his early 20s, was conscious and in a stable condition before he was taken by road to Royal North Shore Hospital with a possible spinal injury,” she said.
The ambulances was escorted by Highway Patrol officers.
