A baby had to be resuscitated after he stopped breathing during a “near drowning” bath time incident, according to NSW Ambulance.
A spokesman said three amulance crews were called to Pacific Parade in Dee Why at 5.15pm after reports of a “near drowning”.
The spokesman said the baby was believed to have been given CPR by his parents.
Acting Inspector Alan Fitzgerald told the Manly Daily the male child was believed to be under the age of one and needed resuscitating after he “stopped breathing for a small amount of time”.
He said paramedics from NSW Ambulance had reported to police officers at the scene that the child was crying “which was a good sign” and seemed to be okay.
Acting Insp Fitzgerald said the baby was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead as a precaution.
NSW Ambulance said CareFlight was called to the scene at 5.22pm and the baby was taken by helicopter to hospital at around 6.30pm in a serious but stable condition.
