A man who allegedly assaulted three men in a two-hour period late on a Saturday night, appeared in Manly Local Court on Wednesday.
Chances Moana, 21, of Willmot, allegedly attacked the three men between 10pm and midnight at Dee Why on December 21 last year.
Mr Moana was arrested at 12.30am, about 30 minutes after the last allaged assault, and has been in custody since.
Police allege that he also tried to steal a mobile phone and wallet of one of the alleged victims.
Mr Moana was charged with three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, one count of aggravated assault with intent to rob and one count of demand property with menaces with intent to steal
The court was told that the charge of aggravated assault with intent to rob was set to be withdrawn.
Documents tendered to the court said Mr Moana was charged with assaulting Tam King about 10pm on December 21. He was also charged with assaulting Simon Lyon about an hour later.
Police also charged Mr Moana with assaulting Paul Christie before midnight and demanding that he hand over his mobile phone and wallet.
Bail documents tendered to court said Mr Moana was refused bail when he appeared in court in January because he had a history of violence. The documents said he had two previous Intensive Corrections Order for “matters of violence”and there was an unacceptable risk that he may commit further offences.
Mr Moana, who appeared in court from Lithgow Jail via video link, is yet to enter a plea and did not apply for bail.
Magistrate Mark Richardson adjourned the matter to Manly Local Court on March 25.
