Cromer could soon be home to one of the country’s largest indoor golfing facilities, featuring an 18-hole mini golf course and 24-bay driving range.

Precision Golf has revealed plans to develop an indoor golfing centre at 4-8 Inman Rd located next to Cromer Campus on Sydney’s northern beaches.

The proposal includes the development of the world’s largest indoor ‘TrackMan’ golf simulator as well as golfing facilities for families, beginners and professionals – creating five new jobs.

A planner on the project said the 2,000 sqm indoor golf centre will provide a range of compatible community and leisure uses whilst maintaining the industrial character of the land in landscaped settings.

“The proposed development includes a 22-bay golf pitching range, 24-bay driving range, two saunas and an exclusive ancillary physio space for facility members to use during golf training.”

Plans also include two party rooms, a club fitting facility, a putting lab, and 10 parking spaces.

The recreational hub will be located within the Cromer Industrial Precinct.

A planner highlighted Cromer’s suitability for a development of this nature, noting that its proximity to nearby residential areas will enable easier community and recreational use.

“The peak use time of the proposed golf facility will be on weekends,” a planner said.

“This is when the industrial land uses on the site will be at a minimum.

“This will further reduce any impact (noise or traffic) that the indoor golf facility will have on the surrounding area.”

If approved by council, the centre will be open to the public Monday to Saturday from 6am – 11pm and 6am – 6pm on Sundays.

Precision Golf currently has an existing facility in Chatswood, home to Australia’s largest TrackMan driving range, fitting and lessons centre.

Memberships at the Chatswood centre currently range from $29.95 to $89.95 per week.
