Colin Fisk in court over 23 historic child sex assault charges against northern beaches’ boy

A notorious paedophile accused of historic child sex offences involving a 13-year-old boy has appeared in Manly Local Court.

A serial paedophile was back before the court on Wednesday, accused of historic child sex offences on the northern beaches.

Colin John Fisk, 72, appeared via video link from jail in Manly Local Court facing 23 charges for allegedly sexually and indecently assaulting a boy between 1979 and 1982.

The boy was aged between 13 and 17 at the time of the alleged offences.

Fisk, a convicted paedophile was charged with 16 counts of buggery — the name of the charge when the alleged offence occurred — and seven counts of assault male and commit act of indecency.

Police allege that 19 of the offences occurred on the northern beaches.

Court documents said the alleged assaults happened at Manly, Freshwater, Seaforth and Brookvale.

The alleged victim was also assaulted at Menai, in Sydney’s south as well as at Grafton and Iluka on the NSW north coast, the documents said.

A police bail document tendered to court said Fisk was a “convicted paedophile with an extensive criminal history relating to similar offences”.

Fisk is currently serving a lengthy jail sentence for child sex offences, which took place on the NSW south coast between December 2016 and March 2017.

He had previously spent 12 years in jail for other child sex offences.

Police will allege that the victim in the current matters before the court came forward earlier this year.

Fisk appeared before the court via an audio/video link from the hospital within Long Bay jail.

A frail Fisk, with a thick grey beard and wearing a prison-issue beanie, was in a wheelchair.

He did not enter a plea.

Magistrate Michelle Goodwin ordered that a brief of evidence be served on his Legal Aid solicitor and adjourned the matter for mention to Manly Local Court on September 23.

Fisk did not apply for bail and it was formally refused.
