A court case against a serial paedophile, accused of historic child sex offences on the northern beaches, has been delayed.
Colin John Fisk, 72, is before Manly Local Court facing 23 charges for allegedly sexually and indecently assaulting a boy between 1979 and 1982.
The boy was aged between 13 and 17 at the time of the alleged offences.
Fisk, a convicted paedophile was charged with 16 counts of buggery — the name of the charge when the alleged offences occurred — and seven counts of assault male and commit act of indecency.
But his Legal Aid solicitor told the court on Wednesday that she had not yet received the brief of evidence from the police.
Magistrate Scott Nash adjourned the matter to September 30 to confirm that the brief had been served.
Police allege that 19 of the offences occurred on the northern beaches.
Court documents said the alleged assaults happened at Manly, Freshwater, Seaforth and Brookvale.
The alleged victim was also assaulted at Menai, in Sydney’s south as well as at Grafton and Iluka on the NSW north coast, the documents said.
A police bail document tendered to court said Fisk was a “convicted paedophile with an extensive criminal history relating to similar offences”.
Fisk is currently serving a lengthy jail sentence for child sex offences, which took place on the NSW south coast between December 2016 and March 2017.
He had previously spent 12 years in jail for other child sex offences.
Police will allege that the victim in the current matters before the court came forward earlier this year.
Fisk, who is in a prison hospital at Long Bay jail, has yet to enter a plea.
He did not apply for bail and it was formally refused.
