An elderly woman crashed her car through the front window of a popular physiotherapy practice on the northern beaches on Monday morning.
The woman, 86, was behind the wheel of her car that was facing front on to the kerb outside the Arthur Street Physiotherapy at Forestville at about 9.40am.
But the car lurched forward from the disabled parking space and ended up smashing through a plate-glass window and a low brick wall at the front of the practice.
A witness told the Manly Daily that the car crashed through the small foyer area at the front of the shop.
“It ended up partially in one of the treatment rooms,” the witness said.
“There is definitely quite a mess.”
A Northern Beaches Police spokesman said the driver was not injured.
“There were no injuries to anybody inside the shop,” the spokesman said.
The woman was examined by Ambulance officers, but not taken to hospital.
NSW Fire and Rescue firefighters from the Forestville station were called in to shore up the front of the shop and clean up the shattered glass and brick work.
