Nine Sydney nightspots have been named on Liquor and Gaming NSW’s most violent venues list.
Among them was The Sugar Lounge, a Tiki bar on North Steyne in Manly, which was seventh on the list - and third among Sydney venues.
It recorded 14 incidents of violent assault in 2017.

It means the Sugar Lounge - and the other 13 venues on the list - have more restrictions added to their liquor licences; will be more closley monitored by licensing authorities and will incur substantial risk-based loadings to its annual licence fee.
Management at the Sugar Lounge must now stop selling alcohol 30 minutes prior to close; not serve drinks in glass containers after midnight and introduce a 10-minute alcohol sales “time out” every hour after midnight or hand out water and/or food.
The Sugar Lounge was contacted for comment.
