600 jobs available at new Northern Beaches Hospital in Frenchs Forest

STAFF wanted: Hundreds of different positions — including cleaners, nurses and admin staff — need to be filled before the $600m Northern Beaches Hospital opens in October.

There are 600 job vacancies available at the new Northern Beaches Hospital.

MORE than 600 jobs are being advertised at the new Northern Beaches Hospital.

Around 800 staff from Manly and Mona Vale hospitals will transfer across but another 600 positions still need to be filled by the time the $600m hospital opens on October 30.

Vacancies include general and specialty nursing, such as operating theatre and mental health nurses, midwives, sterilising technicians, allied health staff, in particular physiotherapists, plus cleaners, catering staff including chefs and kitchen hands, accounts staff, clinical health coders and security staff.

Healthscope, the private company behind the new hospital, which will cater for both private and public patients, is advertising the remaining roles on its website.

Specific titles jobs include deputy theatre manager, birthing suite nurse unit manager, maternity nurse unit manager, surgical nurse unit manager, plus full time, part time and casual opportunities for midwives and various mental health nursing roles, including a nurse unit manager for the adult acute mental health ward.

“We already have a good number of northern beaches people coming to work at the hospital but it would be fantastic to increase this number further to offer as many jobs as possible to the local community,” she said.

“More than 800 staff will transfer from Manly and Mona Vale Hospitals, which is fantastic news; however, we are still looking for hundreds of people in addition to this number to staff our large hospital.”

While Manly Hospital’s Emergency Department is set to close when the new hospital opens, Mona Vale Hospital will continue to employ more than 250 staff.

North Sydney Local Health District is currently in the process of offering 35 public health staff the opportunity to work in the new urgent care centre and around 70 staff in support services for the hospital.
