There’s a lot of pros and cons about eating burgers, but there is a general consensus that once in a while isn’t harmful.

In fact, tucking into a juicy hamburger with oozing cheese can make you feel so much better at the end of a stressful and challenging day.

Even better news is that the best burger recommendations cover all corners of the Macarthur region.

So there’s no need to make a late-night dash up the Hume Highway or cross the border into Camden to get a great bite.

Almost 20 burger joints, from Wilton to Picton to Campbelltown and across to Camden and Smeaton Grange, made our roll of honour.

But by far and away, the most popular place for a great hamburger was Vegan Island, in Queen St, Campbelltown, which promises “old school favs”.

The largely vegetarian/vegan takeaway offers such specialties as The Big Island Burger (“soo soo good”, was one recommendation) and the KFT Burger.

Suzie Dukes, at Ingleburn, was another favourite with burger aficionados. “All of their burgers are amazing! And you can get them on Uber eats,” Julia Munday posted on Facebook.

Over at Camden, there were a few frontrunners. BC Burgers, on Oxley St, was a popular choice as was Burger Frank, Orangeville Meat Co and Juicy Goose.

Peter Shiels said of Burger Frank: “Exceptional. Freshest, local produce, buns cooked daily, hand made patties and the tastiest going round. Hand cuts chips, home made sauces. Number One.”
