A 29-year-old rapper has been committed to stand trial in the NSW District Court following a drive-by shooting in Sydney’s southwest in August last year.
Sydney rapper Thomas Karras Vandermade appeared at Campbelltown Local Court via AVL on Wednesday dressed in his prison greens and signature gold chain.
The rapper, who goes by the name of Masi Rooc, was formally committed to stand trial after pleading not guilty to a charge of attempted murder, discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possess unauthorised firearm.
Police will allege Vandermade followed Mr Lavulo, also known as Big Kash- another rapper, down the driveway of a Warwick Farm property before allegedly charging towards the car and firing a pistol.
Mr Lavulo, 33, drove himself to Liverpool Hospital for surgery after the alleged incident while his 22-year-old partner was not hurt.
Vandermade has been refused bail for the second time in April despite a $100,000 surety being put up.
Co-accused Giovanni Leota has also been committed to stand trial alongside Vandermade, charged with shoot at with intent to murder, discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possess an unauthorised firearm.
The pair are due to face Parramatta District Court for arraignment on July 9.
