ONE of the more baffling police call-outs last week was to the theft of a box trailer that had been left by the roadside after it got a flat tyre and then had the other wheel stolen.

By the time the owner returned with a hire trailer to pick up the box trailer, it had been removed completely.

MORETON PARK (M5)

On Friday, November 2 a family driving on the M5 Motorway from Goulburn got a flat

tyre on their box trailer near the Moreton Park overhead bridge.

As they didn’t have a spare to fit the trailer, they took the punctured tyre and travelled home about another 40 minutes away. They got the tyre fixed and on Sunday, November 04 they returned to where they had parked the trailer on the side of the highway only to see

the other wheel had been stolen.

They went away and hired a large trailer to carry the box trailer, but about 8pm when they returned to the roadside location they found the whole trailer had been stolen.

Anyone travelling along that stretch of road between Friday and 8pm on Sunday is asked to view any dashcam footage to see if they have any information on this theft.
