The car was reported stolen from Macquarie Fields Station yesterday.

The crash in Denham Court sparked concern from neighbouring residents and when police arrived the juveniles’ alleged spoils from a night’s work was revealed.

Wallets, cash and tools were recovered by officers from Campbelltown City Police with the items allegedly stolen from cars in the Leppington and Denham Court areas.

The juveniles remain in custody at Campbelltown Police Station and are expected to be charged today.

The arrests follow stern reminders issued by Camden and Campbelltown City Police Area Commands about the importance of locking your vehicles, following a spate of motor vehicle break-ins in recent months.

Camden Police Area Command crime prevention officer Senior Constable Gregory Louden encouraged the community to invest in strong security measures to safeguard against steal from motor vehicle offences.

“We encourage residents to park your vehicle in a secure location, ideally where there are sensor lights and CCTV surveillance,” he said. “That toolbox is your livelihood.”

The maximum penalty if convicted of stealing from a motor vehicle is 10 years imprisonment.
